What exactly is Occupational Hygiene?

What exactly is Occupational Hygiene? At OHSS Safety Consultants, we are well known for our expertise in safe asbestos removal and management, but we do much more besides. Since 2001, we have been delivering Occupational Hygiene Services to clients across Ireland. It’s a term most people will have heard of, but what exactly is involved in Occupational Hygiene?

Well, it’s a broad umbrella term that covers a wide range of aspects concerning employee health and safety in the workplace and is about being able to spot issues before they become a problem where possible and reacting in a timely manner when hazards become present.

The services we offer are numerous and include:

Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments
Asbestos Fibre Monitoring and Analysis
Ergonomic Assessments
Chemical Safety and Exposure
Asbestos Surveys
Expert Witness
Work Safety Statements
Vibrations Analysis and Noise Measurement

Who would we typically work with?

We work with major international corporations like Irish Rail, GSK and the Central Bank of Ireland, but we are by no means out of reach to smaller businesses and organisations. We aslo offer training and guidance on how to identify risk and prevent harm coming to the workforce of all types and sizes of business.

If you would like to learn more about how a workplace risk assessment can help you ensure a safe and comfortable work environment for your staff, you should have a chat with one of our highly qualified team on 01 6905907 or you could visit our website www.ohss.ie for more information.

If you have never had a risk evaluation your working premises, there could be hazards that you aren’t even aware of putting your workforce at risk. Don’t take that chance, as the old adage “better safe than sorry” most certainly applies with employee health.
