GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) – Occupational Monitoring
The client manufactures a range of over-the-counter medicines at their facility in Dungarvan, Co Waterford. They asked us to find a way of reducing the reliance on respirators at the plant.

Solution:
Working with GKS corporate industrial hygienists, OHSS undertook a comprehensive task-based monitoring programme of active ingredients to establish current exposure levels. Data from the study was used to identify better control measures, and to reduce the need for respiratory protective equipment.
Tangible benefits:
As a result of our study, GSK were able to reduce the need for respiratory protective equipment. This improved worker comfort and saved costs.
