About Us
OHSS was established in 2001 as an Occupational Health and Safety consultancy. Founder Paul Foran has extensive experience in the field, both as a consultant and as a former Inspector with the Health & Safety Authority (www.hsa.ie), where he formulated policy and legislation.
Our mission is to bethe leading Occupational Hygiene and Safety consultancy in Ireland, and provide reputable training programmes. We aim to develop long-term working relationships with our clients, and exceed their expectations.
OHSS employs a team of consultants who offer diverse experience in Health and Safety implementation and management. We draw on the strengths of each consultant to deliver the highest standard of specialist health and safety services in Ireland and overseas. Our work frequently takes on a pan-European aspect, particularly when engaged by multi-nationals.
Our Team
Paul Foran MA, MSc - Managing Director
Paul is Managing Director of OHSS, which employs 10 people. He has more than 15 years’ experience in the field of Health and Safety both as a consultant and an Inspector with the Health & Safety Authority (HSA). He is a qualified Occupational Hygienist. Paul lectures on health and safety at The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), UCD, and Trinity College Dublin - and is a certified trainer for both IOSH and The British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS).
Keith Foran - Director
Keith specialises in Quarry and Construction Safety. He was a Construction/Mines and Quarries Inspector with the HSA for six years before joining OHSS. He was actively involved in enforcing Health and Safety legislation, initiating court prosecutions to this end. He draws on his enforcement experience to explain the regulations and offer advice for cost-effective compliance. Keith is an approved IOSH trainer. He also delivers the OHSS training programme, Managing Safely for Construction Project Supervisors. Keith holds qualifications in Quarrying and Minerals Engineering and is a member of The Institute of Explosives Engineers.
Ann Bollard – Training and Quality Manager/ Safety Consultant
Ann is a training professional with more than 10 years’ experience in both the corporate and NGO sectors. She has been involved in the implementation of safety management systems with clients such as BTW, McNally Kitchens and Wavin. She has a Graduate Diploma in Training and Development from the Institute of Commercial Management, and is responsible for organising and developing training programmes in-house and directly with clients.
Anthony Maunsell – Asbestos Consultant
Before joining OHSS as an Asbestos Consultant, Anthony worked as an Asbestos Surveyor and Analyst on the London Underground.
He has a primary degree in Environmental Sciences and has completed BOHS courses in Asbestos and Other Fibres, Buildings Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos, Asbestos Fibre Counting, Air Sampling and Clearance Testing of Asbestos, Management of Asbestos in Buildings and Supervision and Management of the Safe Removal and Disposal of Asbestos.
