IOSH Managing Client/Contractor Relationships Training
Overview
The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has developed a series of certified programmes designed to promote protection from workplace hazards at every level. IOSH programmes are founded on best practice, as well as legislation to ensure that courses are relevant internationally.
The IOSH Managing Client/Contractor Relationships course is designed to provide a broad overview of the principles of contractor management as outlined in the Construction Regulations 2006 for:
- Those who have already attended a IOSH Managing Safely or Managing Safely for Construction Project Supervisors course and who wish to further their awareness
- Those who have to manage contractors but have no formal training in this area
The course gives the knowledge and skills to enable Contract Managers to secure the services of the most competent contractor whilst keeping in line with legal requirements.
This course is an IOSH course, created in accordance with the IOSH guidelines.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the legal requirements of both client and contractor
- Reduce accidents by improved awareness
- Assist in planning and control
- Increase awareness of contractor control
Who Should Attend?
Employees engaged in procuring and managing contractors.
Course Content
The course comprises of three modules:
- Liability and law
- Construction Regulations 2006
- Selection process of a competent contractor
Course Output
The IOSH Managing Client Contractor Relationships certificate will be awarded to those who attend the course and successfully complete the written and practical assessments.
Course Duration : 3 days.
This includes tuition, exercises, mock assessments and a final assessment. The delivery timetable can be scheduled in one continuous session or as a number of days per month.
